The Dog and the Sheep
In this action project, we were told to learn and make a fable. It was very enticing but very hard. using similes were not in this story.
Colton the dog, was walking to his new school with his mom while eating a ham and cheese sandwich. He was skipping like a frog when he tripped on an emerging root from the enormous oak tree, spilling his sandwich on the filthy ground.
“Are you ok, pup?”
“I'm okay, mama”
The tree looked very intimidating as it stood over him like Robert, the tallest giraffe on this planet. After the long astonishment by him and his new classmates, he spotted this meek little sheep who was trembling vigorously in fear. So Colton rushed over to see what was wrong with the quivering lamb.
“Are you okay?” Colton questioned.
The ball of fluff answered meekly “I-I’m nervous”.
“It's ok,’’ Colton said, “We’ll make it through. Together.”
“o-okay” squeaked the lamb.
“I’m Colton, what’s your name”
“I’m Ava.”
Suddenly, they were silent when they heard, “So, the little lamb has a big bad wolf to protect her! Pathetic!”
Colton spun around to see this majestic bird with feathers like snow, a black and orange dip on the tip, and eyes as dark as the night sky.
“Is there a problem?” said the big bird as she loomed over Colton with such a dark glare it looked like there was a black hole in her eyes. Her eyes were so dark, Colton felt a snake slither down his spine.
“Like I said, is there a problem, dog?” the swan said
“N-no problem! W-what’s your name?” Colton squeaked.
“My name is Emma. Emma Odette.” the swan squawked “and if you ever talk to me-”
BRIIIIING!
Whew. Saved by the bell. Colton and Ava scurry towards the door of the school before Emma and her crew chased them in. It took the duo a while to find the classroom they were assigned to. 208:Ms.Hellman… Colton and ava walk into the classroom that was silent like a bunny. They sit on the two open seats next to a porcupine and a cheetah.
“Oh no,” Colton said
Behind Colton was none other than Emma, the ignorant swan from that morning. Emma snickered causing Ava to start shivering and breaking a cold sweat. Colton whispered “it’s okay” as he held her hand. She shows a faint but genuine smile.
As Time goes, Colton and Ava are sitting at lunch with their group of friends. As Colton laughed at a joke Ava made, he feels multiple snakes slide down his back and his shoulders. He looks up and sees the shock of his friends as he turns and sees Emma with an empty syrup cup. “You were laughing too much, so I had to slow you down” Emma cackled. Tears start pouring from Colton’s eyes. “Aww, Puppy wanna cry” Emma pouted. He looks around and sees the people around him start laughing except Ava and his circle of friends. He dashes to the bathroom to call his mom to come to pick him up.
“MAMA!” Colton sobbed
“Yes puppy, what's wrong?”
“I just wanna go home, please come pick me up,” Colton said
“Okay, Okay”
He sits and cries in the corner of the bathroom, He dries his tears and the syrup.
The next day he comes to class with a hollow face. “Are you okay, Colton?” Ava asked.
“Yeah…’’ said Colton shallowly.
Everyday for the past 3 months, Colton crossed the hallways, he heard
“Syrup Boy!!”
And it only made him worse, but he wouldn’t tell anybody. He sat by himself during lunch and recess and he didn't talk to anybody. Ava was very worried for him, asking him what’s wrong he would say nothing and he was fine, wanting to cheer him up but get denied multiple times until she got fed up. She went up and grabbed him by the collar and pulled him into a corner.
“You know what!” Ava yelled, “I’m tired of you ignoring me! I'm not some side character, I'm the Ally and I'm supposed to help you if you don't let me help you my role is this fable has no meaning! If you don’t tell me what’s wrong I swear to the author typing this right now I will-”
Ava stopped abruptly to Colton sobbing. His tears are crashing over him like the sea on a windy day. Ava comes to hug him and tell him it’s okay while he cries
“I-I was scared to tell anybody because I would get bullied more. I forgot that you were here for me.”
Ava responded with “I will be here with you and you can tell us anything”
Then Colton goes back and tells the principal what happened. As they talked to Emma about what happened she stopped bulling Colton. And now he is finally sitting back in his yellow lunch table.
