In my Drama class, we learned about Shakespeare's plays and women's struggle for rights. A shrew is a person who is not fitting the gender role "requirement". The play we read was The Taming of the Shrew and it is about a man named Christopher Sly comes in a bar and falls asleep and the owner of the place said to prank him in thinking he is a lord.
