Animal Taxonomy? Well... If it fits the KOALAfications

Leopard Gecko

Eublepharis macularius

Hi! The class my project was assigned to is called “Population” and our unit is called “In/Out” In this unit, we found out about the scientific classification of creatures, within creatures, and how life forms are named. I hope it fits the KOALAifacations for you. For this project, I, as well as my fellow students, have to choose an animal and study its Taxonomy and no, they do not do taxes, but the classification of an animal or animals by their Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species. The animal I precisely chose is the Leopard or Panther Gecko. A leopard gecko is a type of gecko that lives in the rocky, dry grassland and desert regions of south-Asian Afghanistan, Pakistan, north-west India, and some parts of Iran. Their diet is composed of insects, including scorpions, sometimes they will feed on other lizards, so brothers and sisters watch out, you may become dinner.

Comparing animals set theory:

M∪L={ Small, Carnivorous, disguise}
  • The few things a meerkat and a leopard gecko have in common is that they both are small, are Carnivorous, and
  • have a disguise.
L∪G={have spots, pre-anal tail}
  • The common things a leopard gecko and a generic giraffe have is that they have spots and a pre-anal tail.
M∪G∩L={ Birth live young, Babies sticking}
  • The things a meerkat and a giraffe have in common but a leopard gecko does not have is that they have fur or hair,
  • they give birth to live young, and their young stay with them until they grow old enough.
L∪G∪M= { they live in the African continent}
  • The thing all of this set theory has is that they live in the African continent.

  • E.S Set Theory 2019
The Eublepharis reaches its maturity at 18 months and starts populating. They have an incubation period of
52days and lay up to 2 eggs per gestation period. Surprisingly, our little friend can live up to 20 years if he did not
end up as dinner for one of the others. An amusing fact about geckos, believe it or not, all geckos have a voice, ranging from a small squeak to the deafening whistles of the African whistling
gecko; who would have thought. I feel like the collage was the hardest part for me because getting the materials were very hard to get where I'm from.
